History of Spelling Bee in Nepal

In the year 2010, the Rotaract Club of Charumati organized Spelling Bee in Nepal for the first time. The program was conducted at GAA Hall, Thamel and a total of 200 students from 100 different schools of Kathmandu Valley participated in the event. In the event, Master Benish Shrestha from Galaxy Public School was the winner, and Bibek Rauniyar and Arnav Singh were the first and second runner ups respectively. The Spelling Bee Champion for the year was awarded the Championship Trophy along with the medals to those who secured second and third positions.

We are excited to announce the relaunch of the Spelling Bee Nepal event! This competition, where contestants—usually children—are asked to spell English words, will benefit many students. The event will be held in Kathmandu from December 22nd to 29th, 2024. Judges and the spelling master (pronouncer) will be invited from various parts of the valley. Lunch will be provided to all participants, judges, spelling masters, and distinguished guests. Certificates of appreciation will be given to all individuals and companies that have supported the program, and prizes will be awarded to the top-performing students. We aim to promote this program in various ways, aiming to conduct a National Spelling Bee within a few years, benefiting students nationwide. We invite all interested students and schools to participate and take advantage of this opportunity.
